Royal Canadian Air Force

At the introduction of the Canadian National Flag, the Royal Canadian Air Force Ensign was retired from use but its design was used for the command flag of Air Command, approved in 1982. The only change was the use of the Canadian Flag in the upper Canton and the use of a different style of maple leaf.

Some of our military flags are finished with Inglefield Clips (also known as Sister Clips or Brummel Hooks). Traditionally used by the Royal Navy, one pair of Inglefield clips should be attached to the halyard (rope) on the flagpole so the pair on the flag can quickly and easily be attached at each end of the header (closed sleeve).

Separate pairs of Inglefield Clips are available to purchase in our Outdoor Hardware section.
